New Balance More v6
The most cushioned shoe New Balance has ever created - New Balance Fresh Foam X More v6
Sometimes the name of a shoe says exactly what it’s meant to do – and New Balance More takes this logic to the extreme. It’s the most maximally cushioned model in the entire Fresh Foam lineup, designed for runners who want to feel as little of the hard surface beneath their feet as possible. Since its inception as the brand's first maximalist attempt, it has undergone a significant transformation to reach its current form with a stack height of over 40 millimeters. The sixth generation offers the highest impact absorption capability in the forefoot of all tested shoes on the market.
History: from the first maximalist attempt to a full-fledged giant
The Fresh Foam family was born in 2014 with the 980 model, which later evolved into the successful 1080 series. More emerged as New Balance's first true maximalist attempt in the v4 version, initially as a single block of extremely soft and pliable foam. A significant shift occurred with the v5 version, where the stack height increased by nearly 10 mm, and the shoe finally became a full-fledged maximalist model – at the same time, New Balance switched to the same formulation of Fresh Foam X used in the premium 1080 model, instead of the simple block of soft foam from previous versions.
Technology: Fresh Foam X midsole with a stack height of 44 mm
What makes the sixth generation More exceptionally cushioned are these elements:
- Fresh Foam X midsole: The same foam formulation as in the 1080v14 and 880v15 models, but here applied at a height of 44 mm in the heel and 40 mm in the forefoot with only a 4 mm drop – one of the highest stack heights in the running market.
- Higher energy return: Compared to the previous version, New Balance improved energy return to 60.1% in the heel and 58.8% in the forefoot, making the v6 feel noticeably firmer and more stable than the softer and less controlled v5.
In laboratory tests, the v6 achieved values of 152 SA in the heel and 144 SA in the forefoot, making it the softest cushioned shoe among all tested models – a feel designed specifically for heavier runners, distance specialists, or anyone who wants to feel as little of the hard surface as possible at any pace.
Durability
The More v6 is built for durability – reviewers report a soft and pliable feel even after more than 240 km (150 miles) of use, with minimal wear on the outsole in rubber-covered areas. The exposed foam in the midfoot holds its shape without visible degradation even after extended use, making it a reliable companion for regular easy miles.
Who this model is for
The More v6 is a performance shoe for you if you run easy paces, recovery jogs, or long slow miles and want maximum cushioning regardless of speed – it’s less suitable for faster training, where the high stack limits ground feel.

Details
More than a century of tradition based on stable and reliable movement. These are the New Balance shoes, which have become a symbol around which a cult of comfortable walking and running lovers has been created during the 20th century. But beyond sneakers, New Balance is also at the forefront of everyday and sports fashion. Every year, a special collection is released and more than one football team boasts the NB logo on their jersey.
The history and development of New Balance shoes
On our website and practically anywhere else, you won't find a large number of brands as old as New Balance. In fact, as early as 1906, the New Balance Arch Support Company was formed to provide specific aids for each shoe. These were designed to not only provide comfort to the then not-so-comfortable shoes, but more importantly stability by supporting the arch of the foot - hence the name New Balance.
However, New Balance sneakers as shoes did not start to come out until many years later. Specifically, the first silhouette of a New Balance shoe saw the light of day in 1960 when the Trackster model came out. It was unique among the others primarily because it was the first outright running shoe with a crimped sole.
But the marketing didn't work very well and for a long time New Balance shoes were still a community affair. It wasn't until the 1970s that sales started to grow, with the popularisation of running, which was also linked to the hosting of the now iconic Boston Marathon. New Balance shoes began to become popular among runners and the company slowly but surely became a leading manufacturer of running shoes.
For running? Yes, but also no.
Today, however, men's and women's New Balance sneakers aren't just a running thing. Over years of branding and image building, they have become sneakers for almost every situation. Today we wear New Balance shoes before a trip to the countryside, a city walk but also a social event and still undoubtedly before a sporting performance.
New Balance sneakers can therefore be found in a variety of different designs. Men's and women's, in black and white and many other colours. The most popular models today are mainly New Balance sneakers with the 247, 373, 574 and 997. Of course, you can find all these New Balance shoes on Footshop. But besides these, there are also many others and the ranges of the latest silhouettes are constantly growing. So before you make your final choice, carefully examine all of our New Balance sneakers.
A record for stability.
New Balance footwear today is not afraid to venture into collaborations with other fashion brands, but also artists or athletes. It's not so long ago that the NB logo also started to appear on the jerseys of some football teams, and it's not impossible that the brand's influence and reach will continue to grow in the future. New Balance sneakers are worn, for example, by Trayvon Bromell, the American sprinter who became the first junior ever to break the magic ten-second mark in the 100 metres. Could it be that New Balance shoes helped him to achieve this?
In short,New Balance sneakers are a phenomenon that we have been wearing for many decades and everything indicates that we will be wearing them for many decades to come. And hopefully in greater numbers. The original intention of the brand, to make wearing sneakers on a daily basis more enjoyable, has not left New Balance shoes even more than a century after the legendary phrase was introduced to the market.
So be part of a tradition with a clear vision and name your sneakers with the iconic NB in the logo.
